PATRICK STAR

Image
patrick is another fun character i got to create with Dreamweaver.  This was a long process but i was so happy with the final product. like with the pikachu i created prior, watching this come to life really made it exciting.  i am still more comfortable with drawing my art, but I can see the value of coding it and am feeling more confident with dreamweaver. along the way, i discovered many hacks and tricks to make coding easier and faster.  practice makes perfect!

PIKA PIKA

Image
file:///C:/Users/Brooke/OneDrive/Documents/UT%20shit/Digital%20Media/PIKACHU/PIKA_CODE.html pikachu was created using dreamweaver.  the actual product had movement in the background. pikachu is obviously cute and i enjoyed watching this one come to life.  i was proud of the final product. using dreamweaver to code art is very different than drawing, painting, etc.  as an artist, programming an image was a little daunting to me, but it was so fun to complete the project and see what i can do with this program.

Dreamweaving

file:///Users/brooke.hinshaw/Downloads/canvas_test_07(rectangles).html file:///Users/brooke.hinshaw/Downloads/Radial_0.2.html these pieces were created by experimenting with dreamweaver. i played with shapes and vibrant colors and was pleased with the outcome. we were not given specific direction on the colors to use, however i know that my professor enjoys vibrant colors.  in addition to using various shapes and colors, i incorporated different types of gradients.  this was a difficult project, it was the first time i created art with code, however, i loved the outcome and would do it again.

brooke ascii-fied

this is my first assignment in digital media FMX 210.  this style is called ascii art.   ASCII art  is a  graphic design  technique that uses  computers  for presentation and consists of pictures pieced together from the 95 printable (from a total of 128)  characters .   this project was fun, it was a good introduction to learning about binary code and digital art techniques.  i had never created art with the technique. i enjoyed trying something new.  i don't think this will be my go-to technique for future projects, but i am glad I did it and know that it is an option, because i can see how it might be beneficial to incorporate in my future work under certain circumstances.

pilot blog

hey there! whoever is reading this, welcome to the first entry of brooke's blog!! we don't use capital letters round here and the main form of punctuation is exclamation points so you can read how my brain thinks! we also sometimes refer to ourselves in the third person and as a group of individuals because i have multiple personalities... they're all named brooke and you never know which one your gunna get so have fun deciphering ;))  to sum up my being into a blog is an impossible task but to put it simply i am a free-spirited hopeless romantic who is obsessed with life and all its small beautiful pleasures! i love the beach, as a girl who considers themselves a floridian after 5 years of living in the sunshine state - my hometown is sarasota, its small and slow and filled with old people but it has gorgeous beaches with breathtaking sunsets and hills you can hike, as well as the wide countryside where you can ride rusty atv's! i never imagined living in such a paradi
